4WD servicing & repairs

Your new-vehicle warranty only stays in force if the vehicle is serviced to the manufacturer's schedule. We do that for every make of 4WD, using the correct grade of oil, fluids and parts, and stamp the logbook.

Out of warranty? The same service keeps an older 4WD reliable. We tell you what is due now and what can wait.

A roadworthy inspection is required before re-registering a vehicle in WA, or after it has been flagged unroadworthy. We inspect and issue certificates for all light vehicles.

Buying a used 4WD? A pre-purchase inspection tells you what you are taking on before you hand over the money.

Worn suspension shows up as body roll, drift and vague steering, on-road and off. We repair and upgrade coil and leaf springs, shocks, sway bars and bushes, and fix power steering and axle faults.

Lift kits are fitted and the vehicle is aligned to spec afterwards, so it drives straight and wears tyres evenly.

Brakes do the most work on a heavy 4WD, especially loaded, towing or on rough tracks, and they wear faster than any other part of the vehicle.

We replace pads, discs, drums, calipers and lines, machine existing rotors and drums where there is life left in them, and flush the fluid to keep the hydraulics working properly.

Hard shifting, noise from underneath or a slipping clutch are early signs. Caught early, most drivetrain faults are a repair, not a replacement.

We service and repair clutches, manual gearboxes, automatic transmissions, transfer cases, differentials and driveshafts, and do full underbody servicing.

Overheating does serious engine damage, and 4WDs are most at risk when towing, climbing in low range or touring on hot days.

We find and fix cooling faults: radiator repairs and replacement, thermostats, water pumps, hoses, belts and leaks. Coolant is flushed and refilled to spec to stop corrosion.

Modern 4WDs run on electronics, and finding the actual fault needs current scan tools and someone who knows both the wiring and the software.

We diagnose faults, repair or replace starter motors and alternators, and install dual battery systems, solar, UHF wiring and other accessories.
